Cascable says it can be done, but I have not been able to work this out, there is only one setting in the Nikon Z7II and that is to set the USB to iPhone which I chose, but after plugging the USB-C cable to iPhone, it pops NxMobileAir app, , and if I ignore and run Cascable app it will not see the camera, and requests WiFi connection.,
Hello,
That iPhone setting is proprietary to Nikon’s own apps, and can’t be used by anyone else. Set it to MTP/PTP and you should be good to go.
Note that if Nikon’s own app is running in the background, it may interfere with Cascable Studio’s operations. Make sure it’s fully closed when running Cascable Studio.
Thanks for your message, I have USB on the camera set to MTP/PTP, I have Cascable Pro (Legacy) on iPhone pro max 17, when I go to reconnect, (the same place that I do WiFi) it doesn’t anything, I can connect via USB, and no app is rung in the background, I really hope that this work, is my version of Cascable capable of connecting to camera via USB? thanks for your support, as you see I have been one of the early users of your app, and I can figure this out
If you’re literally pushing “Reconnect” after being connected via WiFi, it’ll be trying to connect via WiFi again. Choose the option to connect to a new camera, then go Nikon → USB to connect.
If you’re still having trouble, make sure you’re using a good quality USB-C to USB-c cable, then go to our Wired Camera troubleshooting guide here: Cascable: Working with Wired Cameras , then look through the “Physically Connecting Your Camera” and “Troubleshooting” sections to make sure Cascable Studio has been granted the correct permissions from iOS to connect to cameras.
