I am trying to use Cascable Studio to remotely start recording video over wifi. I connected to the wifi network of my Nikon D5300 and successfully connected to the camera with Cascable Studio, and I can take photos. However, when I switch to video mode and click the red button to start recording, I only get 1 second of video saved to the camera’s SD card before the camera’s wifi network turns off and Cascable becomes disconnected. What might be the problem and how can I fix it?

Sorry you’re having trouble with Cascable Studio. Could you please try over USB and see if the problem persists?
We had a problem with a D7xxx camera of the same era that advertised that it’d record video over WiFi, but if you tried the camera would immediately crash — we ended up having to manually block that camera from video features. It sounds like that’s what’s happening here, too.
