Good morning,
I tried to search if the topic had already been discussed but I didn’t find anything.
In the list of supported cameras I didn’t find the model in question and, trying to connect it I didn’t succeed.
This seems to confirm that the camera is not actually supported.
If confirmed, are there any hopes that it will be implemented?
Hello,
Welcome to the community!
Yes, this camera isn’t supported. See here for details on that: Important: Read Before Asking About Camera Compatibility!
However, we’re aware of the demand for GFX cameras and are working on it!
Any news about gfx cameras? ![]()
I would love to have a wireless preview, low resolution, on a tablet, with a gfx100s.
I don’t need live view, camera options etc.
Just a simple 2mp preview.
A year and a half later and still no solution for GFX users… :o(
I’m an architectural photographer and have been using a Fuji GFX100S since 2023. I would buy the app immediately if it supported the camera. I need a larger, wirelessly connected screen so I can move around freely and compose my shots with accessories.
There are alternatives, but they all are not satisfying. The Fuji XApp is unusable because it doesn’t support zooming in Live View (for manual focusing) or changing camera settings while connected to the app. Another solution [Camranger] does work, but it’s sluggish and drains the battery quickly. Longer shooting sessions aren’t possible.
As you can see, Fuji GFX100S support would be fantastic, as I could finally work without any limitations.
So please Cascable team, don’t leave us Fuji GFX users out in the rain.
As a small company, our camera support is informed by a combination of user demand, manufacturer support, and cost of implementation.
With the GFX line, we have a reasonably small potential userbase combined with a set of very expensive cameras we have to go out and buy, which unfortunately means that it’s very prone to being superseded by other projects that are less risky for us (such as our recent big Sony update).
Having manufacturer support makes this much easier, and we’re always enthusiastic to work with them to build great integrations. Unfortunately, we have no such relationship with Fuji, so it’s on our shoulders entirely.
We do genuinely plan to do a compatibility sweep to gather up the newer X-T cameras, the GFX line, etc, but we’ve stopped giving actual estimates now since we keep letting people down. It’s on the roadmap, though, I promise.
I’m sorry, but that’s ridiculous.
A new Sony a7rVI or another high-quality full-frame camera that you support costs around $4,500–€5,000. A Sony a1II is even more expensive.
A Fuji GFX 100sII or 100 II is also available today for around $5,000 / €5,000.
Well, if your relationship with Fuji isn’t close, why do you support a ton of fuji aps-c cameras?
Best regards
For our original Fuji release, we went down to our local camera store and spent a rather considerable amount of money on a big pile of cameras and implemented the support without Fuji’s involvement. Since then they’ve changed their platform enough that our work no longer works with their newer cameras, including the GFX line.
The cost of one individual camera is never the point - after all, we support the Phase One IQ4. As I explained, it’s largely a combination of the customer demand and the support we get from the manufacturer. With your example, Sony, we have a very large customer base for that brand and Sony provides lots of support.
Anyway, as I’ve said multiple times now — it is coming. Stay tuned!
